Since 2014, the Myron Uhryn Charitable Foundation has been operating mobile medical practices that provide dental care to people injured by war. The mostly larger, complex injuries in the facial area require complex operations and give the patients back an essential piece of their quality of life.
An engaging story of helping
The MM Dental Implant Center, the basis of the Myron Uhryn Foundation, was established in Lviv in 1991. The founder of the center is Dr. Myron Uhryn, a luminary in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery in Ukraine. To date, MM Dental Implant Center is a modern, licensed diagnostic and treatment center with 75 professional staff. Due to the current situation, the free treatment of war victims and emergency aid for refugees is currently in the foreground. The most important thing for the founder and his dedicated team is to help all patients, regardless of their age or social status.
The commitment has many heads
Geistlich CEO Ralf Halbach: "I am proud of our employees, who have courageously put together many kilometers." At the end of March, employees from the two Swiss headquarters and the twelve affiliates ran and walked for Ukraine. Management and members of the Board of Directors also got involved in the solidarity event. Two Ukrainian refugees, who are staying privately with a Geistlich employee, also took part to help their compatriots back home. Myron Uhryn of the foundation of the same name, based in Lviv in western Ukraine, expresses his thanks: "The donation enables us to continue to provide rapid, high-quality support for war-disabled people. Where it counts at this moment."
